The City of Longview Emergency Communications Channel 28 (ECC 28) is designed to inform Longview citizens in times of major disaster/emergency events. The City's Emergency Operations Center (EOC) maintains a live video feed which is utilized whenever the EOC is activated. The City of Longview will air periodic up-dates on emergency situations anytime the EOC is activated. During times of non-emergency, 28 hosts KETK NBC-56's live Doppler radar feed with audio from the National Weather Service.
The City of Longview has achieved the National Weather Service's prestigious "Storm Ready Community" designation.
